Platforms have been around for a while in different guises but they are currently being restyled by Sonia Rykiel with dazzling results.

Patrick Cox’s iconic 11cm heels might also be worth a look, although you do have to ask questions over their practicality.
If platforms and heels really are due a resurgence next year then the “Tivona Air Slings” might offer a more comfortable alternative.
