London is the perfect place for up and coming artists and designers to get their work out there for the world to see and get the recognition they deserve. The fabulous Loulou’s fashion and art boutique encourages these young designers, helping them make that first step into the crazy and ever changing industry.

The boutique helps set up London fashion events and sells designers pieces through the online store and the next exciting event (which I am totally looking forward to!) is the London Fashion & Art Event which is taking place on September 21st from 4pm at the ICA – Institute of Contemporary Arts.

We all know Dannii Minogue as a singer, X-Factor judge and the girlfriend of the incredibly gorgeous former rugby player turned model Kris Smith! But we can now refer to her as a fashion designer – and a damn good one if I say so myself!
Project D by Danni and Tabitha is a collection of beautiful sophisticated dresses which would make any woman who wears them feel sexy and confident. From sequinned maxi dresses to cowl minis there is a style for every occasion. There are even a few belts to get your hands on to accessorise your Project D dress!
This collection is Dannii Minogue’s and close friend and London-based designer Tabitha Somerset-Webb’s debut range. The label was launched this year and has done amazingly well and can already be seen on top fashion websites such as iStylista.com, My-Wardrobe.com and Trilogy.co.uk. It is the result of Dannii’s and Tabitha’s friendship and shared views on fashion and style – us fashionistas are definitely grateful!
Danni says:
“Our philosophy is to make feeling confident with your wardrobe easy. We will do the hard work and get the details on the dresses right, so all you have to do is enjoy them.”

Project D Casino Dress in Black, £485

Project D Jackpot Printed Dress, £210

Project D Colt Dress in Blue with sequin details, £385

Project D Royal Flush Dress in light pink with black pebble print, £235
Stockholm Fashion Week has definitely earned its role as the most interesting fashion week in Northern Europe. Although not spoken about as much as New York or London Fashion Week, Stockholm seems to have been hiding a range of talented designers with gorgeous clothes for Spring/Summer 2011!

Upcoming and established brands took to the runways to flaunt their contemporary Swedish designs for Spring/Summer 2011. From neo-minimalism and relaxed chic at Filippa K to slouchy daywear at Hope, even I couldn’t choose a favourite from this bunch. Unique and stylish in their own ways - depending on what look you feel like sporting! Carin Wester captured the bohemian style with dresses radiating romantic femininity whilst Whyred went for modern interpretations of classic mods style with gorgeous prints on dresses.
Other designers in the Line-up at Stockholm Fashion Week were Cheap Monday, Tiger of Sweden, Nakkna and The Local Firm.
London designed brand DESA combines sexiness with sophistication in their Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection with the help of cinched in waists, curve hugging pencil skirts and slinky dresses!

DESA has combined craftsmanship with quality, luxury and modern fashion edge for over 30 years producing gorgeous clothing and accessories that women are able to style up however they want. They produce womenswear, accessories and shoes using the finest materials resulting in versatile, classy pieces which seem to enhance the female silhouette in all the right places.

If you love shoes as much as I do, and even more so when they’re fabulously quirky, unique but still amazingly stylish, then you should set your eyes upon designs from Hetty Rose who is launching her first ever Ready-To-Wear Collection at the Fashion Lounge Event for London Fashion Week.
Nolca, in association with BelEsprit, will host The Fashion Lounge alongside London Fashion Week to showcase top independent designers and will take place on September 20th 2010 (12pm-4pm) at Trafalgar Hotel. Hetty’s RTW Collection, which will be available to buy from October this year, is vibrant and girly with feminine details such as pretty bows and unusual prints adorning the shoes. Some of the gorgeous styles which will be part of the collection are Mika, Yuki, Kiki, Haruka and Mami. Your feet will be flaunting understated glamour! Prices currently start at £150 for a pair of shoes and future collections will include more accessories such as bags (very excited!), interiors, baby shoes and men’s ties which I’m sure will please fans and followers of this talented designer.
