Take a deep breathe because the 2010 beauty word on the street is ‘Oxygen, Oxygen Oxygen’, it’s the latest potent ingredient in the battle against tired and aging skin.
Celebs have long been wise into the ways of the big O and have been stocking their bathroom shelves with a brand called ‘Karin Herzog’. This luxury skincare range developed in Switzerland boasts Uma Thurman, Kylie and Victoria Beckham amongst its fans so I had to find out more - after all what’s good enough for Posh is surely good enough for a TopStylista lady?!
Herzog decided to start using oxygen because it’s antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. Apparently when we’re young and our oxygen levels are healthily high we have beautiful clear complexions. But as we age our oxygen levels naturally decline and this combined with smoking, stress, pollution, alcohol, sun damage etc means our skin looks old and tired. Not good….

As of Spring 2010 there’s a new luxury skincare brand about town, all the way from Down Under in fact, and it’s called OP Therapy Skincare.
The products are one of the only 100% Australian, native made and owned ranges and were created and developed by Alexandra Olsson, whose passion for natural healthcare led to the conception of a healing, nourishing and regenerative range of treatments combining emu oil and natural herbal plant extracts.
We were recently introduced to the range through AmaZing PR who have been synonymous with successful beauty product launches in the UK.
What’s quite remarkable about the products is that they contain some rather unusual (to us Northern Hemisphere bunch) ingredients, that are said to have natural healing elements.

It’s fair to say that over the period of a year we’re sent hundreds of different tanning products to try out… all much of a muchness to be fair. However, we recently received a product that stood out from the crowd by some distance, possibly because of its bright pink bottle and quality packaging (we’re suckers for good branding!).
With fans including Lisa Snowden, Rachel Stevens and Imogen Thomas, we felt if it was good enough for them… then it must be OK for us! We also learned that the Sienna product is in fact the spray tan brand of choice used on Strictly Come Dancing, How to Look Good Naked and even Gladiators!
So… onto the products!
We started with the ‘extend and perfect gradual tan’ in its gorgeous magenta bottle. The product is rich, creamy and very smooth and smells pretty good too unlike many of the chemical ridden based tanning products. The product contains anti-oxidant vitamins and natural ingredients and is a joy to use we have to say! The tan it produces is also incredibly natural… not a hint of a tangerine insight! It’s priced at £14.95 and worth every penny when you consider the results from other cheaper brands.

We just received our sample of a new product line Bollywood GLAM-X Foundations, which is specifically formulated for Asian skin tones like mine.
I’m quite lucky in that my skin is pretty healthy and balanced and therefore I tend to refrain from using foundations, however on photo shoots or when I get tired there is certainly a need to have a helping hand in the form of foundation. The problem has been in the past finding a decent matching foundation for my skin.
Apparently this product is used by makeup professionals in the Bollywood arena as it’s the best you can buy and caters for all Asian and Ethnic skin tones. The choice spans from beige to yellow to gold and olive tones, 6 shades in all, so you don’t necessarily have to be Asian to use them!
